Redesigned 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid Debuts On August 23

While the Toyota Camry Hybrid has seen slower sales in 2011 as a result of the massive March earthquakes in Japan, consumers are still clamoring to get the leader of Toyota's lineup. The automaker recently announced that it will be revealing the all-new 2012 Camry on August 23, and the new Toyota Camry and Camry Hybrid will be delivered to Toyota dealerships worldwide in the fall.

The unveiling of the new Camry model will take place simultaneously at four different events in the United States. Live video streams will come from the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn, Michigan and the Toyota Camry assembly plant in Georgetown, Kentucky. Locations in New York City and Los Angeles will be included as well.

"If you're looking for a success story, you need look no further than the Toyota Camry," said Bob McKenna, general manager of Upstate New York Toyota dealer New Country Toyota of Saratoga Springs. "Toyota has sold 15 million Camrys since the vehicle first came out 28 years ago, and the new model will vault the Camry back to the top of the sales charts where it belongs."

Toyota has been slow to release details on te design aspects of the new model, but exterior photos of the 2012 Camry reveal a more modern look and sharper edges. The Toyota Camry Hybrid is expected to make strides in the mileage department as well in order to combat other fuel efficient vehicles that have been recently released, so expect to see improvement upon the 35 mpg highway/31 mpg city that we saw in its predecessor.
