2010 Toyota Camry Hybrid Vehicle Review
There's no doubt that consumers have been ramping up their appetite for hybrids recently, but the recent recession and high cost of your average hybrid have put a hurting on the industry. In fact in many cases, you may never manage to make that money back in the savings you'll see on mileage and gas usage. That isn't the case for the 2010 Toyota Camry Hybrid, however, which is a rare exception.
Style
The 2010 Toyota Camry Hybrid has a fairly impressive layout. You'll get 16 inch wheels and dual automatic climate control. It also features the coveted keyless ignition and entry. You'll get a number of optional choices as well such as a sunroof and leather upholstery. Navigation and satellite radio systems are also available.
Performance
As you might expect, the Camry Hybrid gets it's pep from a 2.4 liter four cylinder gas engine. The engine works in unison with the electric motor. Power is sent to the front wheels thanks to a continuously variable transmission. You even have the ability to run your Camry Hybrid on electric power, but not at speeds exceeding 30 mph.
SafetyYou won't be lacking airbags here, as the 2010 Toyota Camry Hybrid comes with standard front-side airbags as well as side curtain airbags, even going so far as to sport a driver knee airbag. The Camry Hybrid managed an impressive five out of five stars when put to the test of National Highway Traffic Safety Administration crashes.
InteriorWhile the seats are considerably comfortable, some long time Camry Hybrid owners have noted that the quality of the interior has slipped slightly in the 2010 model. The hybrid battery pack also means you'll be losing a bit of trunk space (10.6 cubic feet instead of 15 in a traditional Camry).
ConclusionThe quietness of the 2010 Toyota Camry Hybrid makes driving it incredibly comfortable and almost awkward since you may not be used to the silence in the cabin. You'll get reasonable acceleration without sacrificing much in mileage. If you're looking for a Sedan and don't mind the slightly higher price tag, the Camry Hybrid is a solid choice.
